Hriday Dialogues is a platform bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders, including experts from the government, media, civil society, funders, and key legal and psychological institutions, to spotlight best practices and pathways of open exchange that help vulnerable children heal and thrive.

Promoting the best interest of the child, the stakeholder consultation facilitates open and constructive dialogue to nurture and advance the ecosystem for children’s psychosocial well-being in the country.

POLICY AND POSSIBILITIES: BUILDING A TRAUMA-INFORMED CHILD PROTECTION ECOSYSTEM

In this discussion, experts will deep dive into trauma-informed policy approaches across psychosocial and justice systems. The conversation will explore best practices in foster care, justice, education, and care institutions, offering insights into building an integrated, child-centred approach.

THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE: UNDERSTANDING PSYCHOSOCIAL NARRATIVES

This panel will delve into the psychosocial dimensions of trauma, exploring how abuse and neglect affect both the mind and body. Experts will examine the neurobiological impacts of trauma, while highlighting the importance of gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches to care, especially for marginalised groups. Drawing from diverse perspectives in mental health, social work, and arts-based therapy, the discussion will explore innovative practices for supporting children and adolescents through trauma-informed frameworks.

Experiential Masterclass 1:
DECODING VULNERABILITY IN CHILD BEHAVIORS THROUGH HAND PUPPETS

In this interactive session, hand puppets will be used to represent a child’s inner voices and trauma responses, fostering understanding through play-based therapeutic techniques.

Experiential Masterclass 2:
CREATING TRAUMA-INFORMED LEARNING SPACES

In a hands-on session, facilitators will explore the integration of neurobiology and creative arts to create safe learning spaces for vulnerable children.

COLLABORATIVE PATHWAYS: TRAUMA-INFORMED NARRATIVES IN PUBLIC DISCOURSE

This panel will explore how trauma-informed narratives can shape public discourse and drive meaningful change in child protection. Experts will discuss the role of philanthropy, media, and education in prioritising trauma-sensitive practices, from CSR models supporting healing-centered youth programs to responsible journalism that reframes narratives around violence and abuse. The conversation will also touch on the integration of trauma-informed care within India’s education system and the importance of a feminist, inclusive vision for mental health and child protection.
