Volunteering At Protsahan
Volunteers of Protsahan are cut from a different cloth. But they all have one thing in common – empathy. It’s at the center of everything we do, and everything we aspire to achieve through our work. We’ve had some amazing volunteers in the past, some of whom continue to contribute in our efforts.
We have a big task ahead of us, and we need all the help we can get in the form of resources and people with empathy who can support us in our efforts. We need committed, talented people, young or old, to volunteer with us and help us reach out to more children in need of help and guidance to break free from abuse of any kind.
SOMETHING TO GIVE
A skill, a life lesson, incredible moments of your journey and more!
Protsahan creates a mentoring space that empowers young girls by connecting and engaging professionals from the corporate world with volunteering opportunities to truly make a difference. We encourage and engage with proactive and credible corporates that can add meaningful and impactful life skills in the life of young adolescent girls we work with at the last mile. You don’t have to be a C++ guru to volunteer, just be kind, knowledgeable and committed to contribute a skill as an online volunteer with us!
Internet safety & privacy
What can you teach?
You can train students in resume writing, photo/video-editing, MS Excel and Powerpoint, innovative education apps on mobile/tablets, internet safety and privacy, exciting art techniques, sexual reproductive health and rights, financial literacy, consent and respectful relationships, designing, photography and more! Our teams at the digilabs in slums, will help you coordinate the sessions.
Fundraising internships at Protsahan are a great opportunity to learn, and acquire hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector while contributing your time and efforts to raise funds for a noble cause. If you are interested in raising funds for Protsahan as an intern, apply at least 1 month in advance with a cover letter email that helps us understand how you would raise funds for Protsahan’s cause, and your profile or CV.
Fundraising internships at Protsahan are completely voluntary and unpaid assignments. If you wish to apply for an internship as part of your school/college curriculum, your institute should support you with an official letter or email sent to info[at]protsahan[dot]co[dot]in.
With limited face-to-face interactions in a COVID hit world, virtual internships are now an integral part of the volunteer experience at Protsahan. All you need is a computer with internet connection, and the right skills to sign up as an Online Volunteer with us.
Whether you are a designer, lawyer, content writer, researcher, or a student, if you have something to contribute, feel free to reach out to us by email at info[at]protsahan[dot]co[dot]in with a cover letter email that details your area of expertise and interest, and your profile or CV.
Georgetown Global Consulting
We are a group of undergraduate students at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and we worked with Protsahan from January 2021 to May 2021 as a Georgetown Global Consulting project team. It was a pleasure collaborating with Protsahan over the course of these five months, and to witness closely all the meaningful work they are doing in New Delhi. Through this project, the team developed the HEART Toolkit and various other materials for Protsahan to assess impact, reach supporters, and create ecosystem-level change through the HEART approach. Along the way, we were inspired by the creativity and energy of everyone at Protsahan, and especially learned so much from Sonal, Jaswinder, and Sanjana.
What do we expect from a volunteer?
Virtual volunteers can engage through short-term or long-term modules, typically off-site from the organization or student being assisted. If you have access to a computer, you can engage with us – from your home, office, library, a coffee shop, basically anywhere with an Internet connection. We expect the corporate teams to give clear onboarding instructions with expectation setting and sensitization on key issues, before volunteering for the cause. Because the organization works with young students with sensitive and difficult backgrounds, we hold the right to accept/reject volunteering requests as may be in the best interest of the child.
Protsahan also recognizes and awards certificates to corporate volunteering teams who go above and beyond in teaching a skill!
Volunteer online from any location across the globe and help Protsahan close the gender gap in knowledge and technology by reaching out to girl students at the last mile.
