Protsahan India Foundation is a center of excellence in innovation & collaboration to eradicate Child Abuse so that all girls living in situations of vulnerability grow up empowered with access to education and healthcare in safe spaces, with greater freedom from all forms of abuse and violence. Girls and children who have experienced abuse or violence benefit from greater access to healing, care, support, gender justice, and other services needed to ensure physical, social and mental well-being. Additionally, Protsahan nurtures grassroots partnerships focused on Healing Childhood Trauma through comprehensive training, research, and advocacy initiatives. These efforts aim to fortify the child protection ecosystem and promote holistic well-being for every child, particularly those in remote areas across India.

The Program Officer will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of impactful programs that align with Protsahan’s mission.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Strengthening program quality and delivery: (65%) 

  • Collaboratively develop program strategies with the reporting manager and grassroots leaders, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and community needs.
  • Ensure implementation of program activities across GECs (Girl Empowerment Centers) by providing guidance, coordination, and problem-solving support to grassroots teams.
  • Strengthen program monitoring systems through regular review of community data, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for high-quality outcomes at GECs.
  • Assist the grassroots team in gathering comprehensive data from the community.
  • Analyse program data to assess impact, identify areas for improvement, and recommend evidence-based solutions.
  • Facilitate capacity building initiatives for YPLs (Youth Peer Leaders) to strengthen their ability to deliver programs effectively and consistently. 
  • Establish and guide a sustainable and high-impact Employment Enhancement Program,  encompassing:
  • Mentorship of a collaborative team in charge of flawlessly and sustainably executing the Fellowship Interventions.
  • Identify and build relationships with relevant partner organisations that can provide learning, mentorship, or employment opportunities for young women. 
  • Collaborate in designing, delivering & documenting relevant, contextual & engaging training modules.
  • Leading the assessment, placement, and graduation of Girl Champions, preparing for employment enhancement with managing external resource person(s) while also taking care of their MOU’s. 
  • Implementing a rigorous evaluation framework to capture the program’s impact on participants, partner organisations, and the broader community.
  • Producing compelling annual reports that showcase the program’s achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Maintaining all SOPs and ensuring their implementation on the ground by the Fellowship Executives as well as the program team. 

2. Alumni Engagement  – (25%)

  • Conceptualize and create SOP and concept note, plan and implement the alumni-engagement via youth advisory collective. 
  • Assist in Stakeholder consultations and industry exposure visits 
  • Conducting FGDs and other learning needs assessments to understand the evolving aspirations and opportunities relevant to Alums.  

3. Collaboration and Coordination: (10%) 

  • Assist leadership in critical meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and efficient agenda management.
  • Liaise with external resource person(s), like filmmakers, facilitate the documentation of on-ground operations and activities through film or cinematic media.

Work Experience:

4–6 years of relevant experience in program implementation, preferably in the NGO sector, with strong field exposure, community engagement experience, and a clear inclination toward data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Higher Education in Gender Studies, Sociology, or relevant Social Sciences subject. 
  • Good understanding of working with young women and communities in Urban slum migrant areas
