Annual Stakeholder Consultation

Promoting the best interest of the child at its core, Hriday Dialogues is an annual Stakeholder Consultation that aims to facilitate dynamic, collaborative conversations for nurturing and strengthening child protection systems in India. With vibrant narrative building dialogue, the consultation spotlights best practices and pathways of cross-learning that help vulnerable heal and thrive.

In its 2023 edition, the stakeholder consultation created a space for dialogue that involved key experts & stakeholders from government, education (legal, arts & psychosocial), media, civil society, and funding institutions.

Panel 1
POLICY AND POSSIBILITIES: REFLECTIONS ON POCSO

An examination of POCSO through a psycho-legal survivor-centered lens, this discussion shed light on the gaps in the system that compromise the best interest of the child before, during, and after the trial, along with justice solutions that can be scaled.

THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE: UNDERSTANDING CRITICAL PSYCHOSOCIAL NARRATIVES

This discussion highlighted embodied trauma responses and their implications on child development from an MHPSS (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support) lens, along with body-oriented healing interventions that promote resilience and help-seeking behaviors of abused children.

– CREATING TRAUMA-INFORMED EDUCATION SPACES

Drawing on Protsahan’s globally recognized HEART framework and community best practices for long-term care and rehabilitation, Protsahan facilitated a workshop on understanding the neurobiology of an abused child.
