Senior Executive- HR

Protsahan India Foundation works with 96,000+ girls annually across Delhi’s slum communities, building pathways out of poverty through education, mental health support, and livelihoods training. As the organisation scales into a pan-India field-building model in 2026, the Executive Director’s office requires dedicated, high-calibre support to manage a wide and demanding portfolio of administrative, regulatory, and coordination responsibilities.

Role Summary

This role owns the full employee lifecycle: getting the right people in the door, keeping every statutory filing and HR record audit-ready, and building the culture and performance systems that let a fast-scaling, mission-driven team do its best work. You take ownership of end-to-end recruitment and create a talent pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Open roles are filled with quality hires on time, and every new joinee is productive and settled within their first month.
  • Own end-to-end recruitment across levels: draft job descriptions, post on job portals , organization website and NGO-specific platforms and build referral and campus pipelines for entry level and field roles
  • Screen resumes, conduct first-round HR interviews, and coordinate panel/technical rounds with hiring managers; maintain a live applicant tracker so no candidate falls through the cracks
  • Coordinate to deliver structured onboarding and induction programs, including for field-based and program staff and maintain a live hiring tracker and coordinate with department heads on hiring plans

HR Operations, Records and Statutory Compliance

  • Every employee file, statutory filing, and compliance requirement is complete, current, and ready for audit at any given point
  • Maintain accurate, organised employee records, letters both physical and digital
  • Track and close statutory filings and compliance requirements (PF, ESI, gratuity, POSH, Shops & Establishment Act, and other labour law requirements)
  • Support internal and donor/statutory audits with documentation
  • Own the HRMS data accuracy, attendance, leave records etc.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and grievances
  • Support in implementation of staff engagement initiatives, recognition programs and internal surveys etc.

Performance Management Coordination 

  • Every employee has clear goals, honest feedback, and a documented performance record not a once-a-year formality.
  • Support managers on performance documentation and feedback delivery
  • Track and support probations and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where needed

Payroll Coordination

  • HR policies are currently and consistently applied, and payroll runs accurately and on time, every time.
  • Coordinate with Finance for accurate, timely payroll processing
  • Ensure policy application is consistent across all teams

Candidate Requirements

Non-negotiables

  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Process discipline to follow documented procedures and flag deviations
  • Absolute discretion with confidential employee and organisational information
  • Ability to close the loop on tasks independently, without repeated follow up

Essential

  • Graduate degree in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in HR – Senior Executive: 5 to 7 years of work experience as HR generalist
  • Working knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, POSH, Shops & Establishment Act)
  • Hands on experience with HRMS/payroll platforms (e.g., Keka, Zoho People) and Google Workspace
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English and Hindi
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, high accountability environment and collaborative mindset.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a non-profit, foundation, or mission-driven organisation
  • Experience mentoring or supervising HR team
  • Ownership of the end-to-end HR recruitment function

Key Working Relationships

  • Direct reporting – HR escalations
  • Finance – Payroll coordination, compliance documentation and audit support.
  • Program Team – Field staff onboarding, engagement and HR support for program based hires etc.
