Women Micro Entrepreneurs

Protsahan’s Women Micro Entrepreneurs initiative started with teaching women how to make candles and designer diyas (traditional clay oil lamps) in the urban slums of Delhi in 2010. The pilot project comprised of 8 women. The project yielded sales worth Rs 18000 in 2010 with support from corporations like Bharti Airtel and KPMG. Since then, several such skill based training workshops have been conducted at Protsahan which involve skills such as tie and dye, ethnic embroidery and Warli art. The samples generated by our artists are sent to corporations in the hope of bulk order requests. We are looking for corporate and government support to back our Women Micro Entrepreneur project campaign under Project Stree.
